Barring the media, MD Democratic Party holds hearing on alleged intimidation by central committee member
No decision was made about the complaint against Ronald Rosenbluth, who says, “I don’t recall” shouting at an elderly Malcolm Ruff supporter

The Maryland Democratic Party’s Credentials Committee last night heard testimony from a Jewish woman, who said she was verbally berated and physically threatened for supporting a non-Jewish candidate by a prominent backer of state Senator Dalya Attar.
The press was barred from the Zoom meeting, and a public record of the testimony regarding the behavior of Ronald Rosenbluth, a longtime 41st District Central Committee member, was not available.
The hearing ended without the panel acting on the petition to remove Rosenbluth from the central committee. Participants were told they would be notified of a decision within a week.
UPDATE: After this story was posted, a state party spokesman confirmed that a decision will be delivered to the parties involved, and they will have an opportunity to appeal. “Until the review has been completed, the Maryland Democratic Party will have no further comment on an ongoing investigation.”
The encounter, first reported by The Brew, took place on June 17 outside the Public Safety Training Center on Northern Parkway, where early voting was taking place.
Krieger said Rosenbluth and other Attar supporters confronted her and other canvassers for Delegate Malcolm Ruff and accused them of being antisemitic.
When Krieger said she was Jewish, Rosenbluth reportedly screamed, “I hate Jews like you” and “How many people did your family lose in the Holocaust?”
“People were holding him back, literally holding him back,” she told The Brew. “I don’t know if he would have hit me or not, but he was certainly screaming and trying to get in my face.”
“We left feeling pretty good that we made our case to the committee, and Ronnie was standing alone without witnesses,” said a participant.
Krieger repeated the same account last night, two sources said, which was backed by four witnesses who spoke during the 10 minutes allotted to their complaint.
When asked to respond, Rosenbluth said “I don’t recall” shouting out that he hated “Jews like you,” and spoke at length about his service to the Democratic Party (he is the cousin of City Councilman Yitzy Schliefer).
It was the 78-year-old Krieger, he testified, who approached him outside the public safety building and acted aggressively.
“We left feeling pretty good that we made our case to the committee, and Ronnie was standing alone without witnesses,” said a participant.
Ruff won the primary battle by a 60%-40% margin over Attar, who is under a federal indictment that includes conspiracy and extortion charges.
A screenshot showed that roughly a dozen members of the Maryland Democratic Party were present at the hearing.
They included Justin Butler, state party affairs director; Robbie Leonard, who ran for Baltimore County state’s attorney in 2022; Pamela Luckett from the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee; Cindy Yoe, chair of the Calvert County Democratic Central Committee; Diana Emerson, deputy state committee treasurer; and Robert Kresslein, a national committee member.
Krieger declined to comment this morning, and Rosenbluth did not respond to Brew inquiries.
